Caracas, Venezuela. – The coordinator of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Americas (ALBA) Cultural Project in Bolivia, Hernan Ferrufino, said that the initiative will allow the preservation the legacy of arts and traditions of the native peoples.
That initiative from ALBA, fosters the development, in an egalitarian way, between the member countries and others in the region, stressed the official.
Ferrufino also said that one of the achievements of such an initiative consists of financial support by creating a fund for the development of artistic expressions. Previously, there were no economic plans in support of people’s interests and they did not care about promoting art.
When referring to the ALBA Cultural purposes, Ferrufino stated that their aims go over the limits of state interests, they would foster a true dialogue based on a Latin-American and Caribbean context.
For the Minister of Culture of Venezuela, Francisco Sesto, the main purpose is to boost a big change in the South American nation, related to ideas as well as art, but working with the other nations of the region.
“We must work together not only in the political and economic fields, as this initiative is like a brotherhood based on spiritual creation”, stated Sesto.
Caracas city is the venue of ALBA’S workshop designed to take some actions for further stages. These include development of artistic teaching, creating of a linguistic atlas and an encyclopedia of regional cultures, and the preservation of tangible and intangible heritage, among others.
The Alba is made up by the following nations: Cuba, Venezuela, Antigua and Barbuda, Dominique, Trinidad and Tobago, Bolivia, Ecuador and Nicaragua.
