The Commander of the Revolution, and vice president of the Council of State and Minister Ramiro Valdes, inaugurated the modern transmission tower to improve the radio and television broadcasting.
Valdes along with the First Secretary of the Cuban Communist Party (PCC) in the central province, Omar Ruiz assessed the new investment of the advanced technology of 555 meters high and it will withstand winds until 25 kilometers per hour.
The radio and T.V transmission tower is located at the heights of the city in a place called La Cumbre will cover the signals of Cuba Vision,Tele Rebelde,Canal Educativo 1 and Canal Educativo2, as well as Radio Rebelde, Radio Progreso, Radio Musical Nacional and Radio Enciclopedia.
Valdes recalled the importance of the brigade of lighthouse keepers who was in charge of the works from the division of Radio Cuba in Matanzas, who were supported by the workers of the Ministry of Construction, improving their work with a high quality. He also took into consideration the care and protection of the places especially in the hurricanes season from June 1 to November 30.
Likewise, general director of Radio Cuba, Justo Moreno reported that these are the first seven transmission towers; two of them located in Pinar del Rio; which represents the 90% of the investment, meanwhile the one located in Sancti Spirirtus also is in process of building.
Radio Cuba director also remarked on the new tower located at the Havana Libre Hotel of the capital city, wich building works are considered very complex as well as the building works I the province of Granma, due to the problems with the electromagnetic compatibility.
