Reverend Lucius Walker, leader of religious organization “Pastors for Peace”, appreciated to Comander Fidel Castro for free training of 50 US
doctors in Cuba.
Walker visited the country leading a delegation of 85 members from several countries such us, United States, Canada, Ireland, Germany, England, and Mexico with a donation that includes means of transportations, medical, sports and educational equipments for the Cuban children.
The leader of that religious organization attended a graduation at the Faculty of medical Sciences Salvador Allende, in the capital Havana, where 230 young people from 18 countries graduated this course on medicine, nursing degree and health technology, being 14 graduates from the United States.
“This is an example of creativity emerged from the genius, Fidel, who with his universal vision has provided hope and life not only those victims of the hurricanes Mitch and George, but also for the entire world, including United Sates, “Lucius Walker said.
“I have the honor not only for representing this friendship delegation, but also to express the increasingly deep feeling of the US people towards Cuba, which is leading people all over the world to the road of health development. This is possible thanks to the generous offers of the Cuban revolution of receiving those young people from peoples and countries, where they can not make their drams of becoming doctors come true, for being part of capitalist system, in which medicine is just a business, “ Walker stated.
Speaking to the graduates, Lucius Walker visible moved expressed: “You are blessed and can become yourselves to the revolutionary hope that change the world into a real medical assistance.”
Over the six graduations at the Latin American Medicine School, more than 8 500 young people form 54 countries have graduated there, 1 400 of them graduated this concluded course. This project devised by Commander Fidel Castro is a great example of integration among peoples.
