The President of the Council of States and Ministers Raul Castro affirmed this Sunday in Havana that the defense for the conquests of the Revolution on streets and squares will remain being the main duty of revolutionaries, who can not be deprived of their rights, the president said.

The Cuban President concluded the fifth plenary session of the National Assembly of People’s Power at the Conference Center, where he stressed that the main power of the revolution is based on the support of the Cuban people, which has been able to withstand aggressions and sacrifices by the imperialism over many years.

For that reason it would not be useless to repeat that there will have no impunity for those enemies, who are trying to put Cuba people at risk, Raul Castro said and noted that there is nothing has changed on Cuba-United States relationships, and the Cubans will continue behaving in a calm and patient way, as we they have learned over more than a half century.

The Cuban President stated that the Cuban Five Antiterrorists are still suffering unjust prison and abusive treatment, like the cruelty being carried out with Gerardo Hernandez, which has condemned today by the representatives at the National Assembly of the People’s Power.

He announced an amount of measures recently taken at the Parliament to be carried out in different times as a process, such us the reduction of those jobs that are exceeded in the state sector and will change the content of work and payment of workers at some companies.

The president also informed about the agreement of increasing jobs for self-employed workers, as an alternative of employment for those redundant workers.

Raul Castro is very confident that those measures will be supported by the working class, the peasantry and the rest of workers, who are aware of the necessity of efficiency and better production at work to increase salaries, as well as increase exports and food productions, and substitute imports.

The fifth session of the Cuban Parliament approved two important laws; that of the change of the current Political Administrative Division, in which two new provinces are created (Mayabeque and Artemisa) and the Road Security code, in order to improve social discipline and preservation of human lives, which would help to eliminate substantial damages.

Likewise, the attention of complaints, reports and suggestions was one of the subjects more raised at the meeting.
Members of the Parliament also knew that the country achieved a reduction of 826 millions of Cuban pesos related to the budget deficit sponsored by the National Assembly in 2009, as well as a fulfillment of incomes over the plan predicted.

A report by the Economic Affairs Commission about liquidation of state budget that year points out that the aforementioned was carried out amidst consecutive adjustments of the economic plan and reduction of expected results.
