On August 22, 1922 Cuba was inserted into the new world of broadcasting. It was the first time that Cuba was permeated by the radio waves from its own territory. It is true that at that time the radio began True radio that began under different assumptions from the current ones but as time goes by everything was changing.

Hundreds of announcers, actors, actresses, musical arrangers, sound engineers and other professionals of the media have been forged and trained by the Cuban Radio, as well as the same important task of organizing, preparing and designing the programming that as a whole harmonizes within each radio station and represents the elements that integrate and identify us.  Our media has gone through several stages, each one with its own peculiarity. Nowadays we are about to celebrate the 88 anniversary of its creation, we know we are the heirs to all those predecessors who got in before us and of which we take their experiences with pride. We are, at the same time, actors and holders of a media that feels satisfying to the fullest.

Many names to mention! Many of them are still with us; the others were pioneers of this media, somehow they are still present in the daily work, in the concentrated silence of each one of us. We represent the summary, the synthesis, the few experience gathered and the fresh impetus. It is what we think and feel those who are in charge of this noble and responsible duty to carry out the work in our media.

Among many things that make us proud, we have a dramatized programming that has preserved the most authentic roots of Cuban expression and resized, growing in quantity and quality, thanks to new technologies that the Cuban Revolution has put within our reach. We also have, for happiness of everyone, the flag of the defense of our cultural identity, the sound of Cuba in every city, every town and even in the most intricate corner of our plains and mountains. We make a programming that is and for the people and we are part of it, we can say it is a Radio made by the people.

The Cuban Radio System has been witness of transcendental moments in the history of the country, such as Fidel's speech in Santiago de Cuba on Victory’s Day in 1959, the announcement of the success in the literacy campaign, the proclamation of the socialist character of our revolutionary process, the Victory of Playa Giron, and the success of our medical brigades in distant nations and in our own country , is more than enough for this August 22 we embrace each other, as one soul, and look ahead with optimism to meet the new challenges of today.

The revolution has had, has and will have the Cuban Radio as one of its unbreakable strongholds because it is a Revolutionary Radio is part of the Revolution itself. There is no task that stops us or challenge that we can not assume with enthusiasm and responsibility, the same happens in a war, with natural disasters and in times of peace.

The Cuban Radio, in its 88 anniversary is getting younger, and continue working!
