Commander in Chief Fidel Castro at the Havana's University stairs
On Friday, Fidel addressed students again, amid a dangerous international situation in the face of an imminent nuclear war in the Middle East, with unpredictable consequences for the world.
The steps of the University of Havana were packed with people and participants carried pictures of Julio Antonio Mella (leader of the student movement) and Ernesto Che Guevara. The students welcomed their historic leader with cheers of Long Live Fidel and Long Live the Revolution. The political-cultural event was opened by singer-songwriter Raul Torres, who performed the memorable song Pequeña Serenata Diurna, by Silvio Rodríguez, which describes the happiness of the Cuban people for living in a free country.
