A Spanish and English multimedia with a great database on Latin American cinema and its international presence was presented in the 32nd Latin American Film Festival in Havana.
Produced by a team of specialists from the Foundation of the New Latin American Cinema, it gathers around 300 trailers of films, more than 2,000 technical specifications, 400 articles and biographies of some of the most prominent figures of cinema in the region.
Its director Maria Caridad Cumana told jurnalists that they worked on this project for two years to create a tool to help spread cinema in and out of Latin America and the Caribbean.
One of the sections of the multimedia provides access to a database on the presence of the continent in 255 Film Festivals, there also appears a section on indigenous films and productions made by women.
At the same time, the Foundation of the Latin American Cinema released a catalogue with the 14 documentaries selected for the second edition of DOCTV Latinoamerica, a program to encourage the production and TV broadcast of documentaries in the area.
