Year 2011 is coming and we celebrate another anniversary of the Cuban Revolution´s triumph (January the first). As it usually happens, we draw up a balance of what we have achieved in the year 2010 based on the forseen goals. It is also the right time to think of new goals and try to fulfill those still pending.

Cuban Radio, as part of the Cuban society and its social project, is deeply involved in today´s demands in Cuba and the rest of the world. As a mass media of excellency we carry out the mission of keeping up with times. It has always been this way for many years and thus it will continue.

Obviously, our mission is from inside and towards society. Radio professionals are really aware of a better structural reorganization as we are part of Cuban society. The year 2011 will be crucial and decisive for the Cuban economic reorganization and the Sixth Congress of Party will be our milestone, where the guidelines for our economic performance will be put forward.

A more efficient economy and greater unity inside diversity are parts of the tactics and strategy that will imply much more socialism meaning equal opportunities, equity  according to work and its quality; a qualitative improvement on education and health services, always with the participation of all Cubans. We know where we are leading to and before this new challenge, we are also aware that the effort on the part of everyone of us will be the power to become true all of our proposed goals.

Today it is not about what we should get,  our maturity indicates that the right thing is to act with intelligence, diligence, with a sense of responsibility and discipline to create the material and spiritual goods that we ourselves would be able to provide.

It is the sign of a new era in the Cuban reality, consistent with the inspiring ideal of our revolutionary epic in order to implement every time what we should.

We know our goals; we are also aware that along the way we will meet other challenges and we will realize what to do best for perfection and modernization. The Cuban economic model updating is an inherent  process in every genuine and profound revolutionary process.

We are aware also of objective hurdles, subjective misunderstandings, some skepticism though few, but nevertheless we keep our conviction that as in other times, now victory will be also on our side.

The Cuban Radio will be a key player in 2011 along this new feat to be achieved responsably and consisten with our living time. Here we are with Fidel, Raúl, the Party and our people in order to undertake a new journey with all and for the good of all.
