If Julian Assange is a terrorist, what about Posada Carriles?, wondered journalist Jean Guy Allard last week on Granma newspaper.
This thesis defended by Guy Allard focuses on the differences between the trial on which the Wikileaks creator will be condemned in London and that of international terrorist Luis Posada Carriles being held in El Paso, Texas.
Only a few hours separate one trial from the other; while the freedom on information advocate has been charged with terrorism, Carriles, a self-confessed terrorist on crimes in Cuba and a fugitive from Venezuelan justice, is only tried for making false statements to migration authorities, a liar.
Assange was transferred from a London downtown court to a court on terrorist issues close to a maximum security prison, such a move is interesting because the reason why his transfer to that center, renamed by the BBC as " the British Guantanamo”, is due to logistical reasons to counter the media harassment and not due to US pressure, as Wilkileaks seems to suggest.
In such precints, the Swedish Chief Prosecutor´s Office indictment against Julian Assange is based on the young Anne Ardin´s statements, who has kept contacts with the Cuban counterrevolution and is suspect of having links with the CIA. On the other hand, the former CIA member and murderer and assassination promoter will be tried as any other U.S. citizen.
The fact is that Assange will appear in court for terrorist charges implying, according to British laws, his arrest and confinement while being hastily moved to another court stalked by the international press, Luis Posada Carriles will face a trial in Texas ignored by the dailey media coverage.
An alarming chalenge to the justice, the US people and the grief of Cuban victims of terrorism.
