
General Raul Castro was received by Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez at Miraflores Palace
After his arrival, the Cuban leader was welcomed with honors and the anthems of both nations were played. Both head of states reviewed the troops of the Venezuelan according to Bolivarian News Agency.
On Monday, Cuban president participated in the commemorative events for the 200 years of the Venezuelan Independence and the IX Summit of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA), which was considered a solidarity and brotherhood project.
Castro also underlined the advances in the commercial and financial integration as well as the efforts to strengthen energy, food and technological sovereignty. Chavez visited Cuba in the framework of the ALBA agreements and met with Fidel and Raul Castro.
The countries which make up ALBA organization are Venezuela, Cuba, Ecuador, Nicaragua, Saint Vicente and the Grenadines, Antigua and Barbuda, whose presidents attended yesterday to the Venezuelan bicentenary celebration, along with Argentinean Dominican Republic presidents.
Chavez also held a work meeting with Argentinean president Cristina Fernández; at the end of the gathering both presidents signed 25 new collaboration agreements in diverse sectors.
