Under the headline: “It is time that the United States ends the blockade against Cuba”, the China Daily newspaper published today an article on that issue; whose journalist also has personally suffered the consequences of such blockade.
Chen Weihua, journalist and chief of the China Daily newspaper, reported that he could not travel to the island in 2004, because of the US government’s prohibition to enter the country with visa from Cuba.
Referring the current restrictions of the blockade, Chen stated that president Barack Obama should show disposition to correct political disasters caused over some decades, which have damage not only Cubans, but also the United States’ prestigious all over the world.Obama should immediately ends the blockade, Chen stressed and said that this would be the best moment for the growing support of many people even in the United States.
Aside from analyzing the negative results for the Cuban economy and people, the journalist recalled that this US policy has just a few allies at the white house, giving the example of UNO’s voting last year, in which 187 nations voted against the blockade last year.
Cuba recently stated that the US blockade has caused losses for the country over $751, 363 millions from its application.
Members of the General Assembly of the UNO will vote on October 26, on their 19 time, in favor or against the resolution that defend the end of the blockade.
