
66, 45 percent of Venezuelan voters at the legislative elections
National Electoral Council of Venezuela headed by Tibisay Lorena reported today at 2:00 am local time the participation of the 66, 45 percent of Venezuelan voters at the legislative elections, in which the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) won the most seats.
This is another historic day for the Venezuelan people and their leader Hugo Rafael Chavez, who was waiting at the Presidential Palace of Miraflores along with his followers and executives for the election results to be released by the National Electoral Council. According to electoral authorities, the PSUV reached the maximum representation of voters at several states in Venezuela.
On his email @chavezcandanga on twitter, President Chavez labeled these parliamentarian elections as successful for the Venezuelan people and the PSUV. “It has been a great day for us; we have had a resounding victory. The elections results show that we should continue to develop Bolivarian Socialism and Democracy.”Likewise, electoral authorities acknowledged the work carried out by those in charge of election organization and coordination in all Venezuelan states.
The President of the National Electoral Council also thanked the voters’ opinions on these elections, as well as the participation of some political organizations. In addition, 165 deputies for the National Assembly and 12 representatives of the Latin American Parliament were elected in these elections.
