Xiomara Fernandez: A Cuban Woman Devoted to the Radio

From then until now she has worked in all roles in dramatic programming, simultaneously the announcing through the genres of narrative, animation, remote control transmissions, youth programs, news. Similarly prominent positions have covered the live broadcast, when they visited our country high-level personalities.

She received a diploma from Radio Rebelde by participating in special broadcast on the occasion of the funeral of the heroic guerrilla commander Ernesto Che Guevara and his comrades, on the way from Havana to Santa Clara.

From 1978 to 2005 she has won awards at the Festival of National Radio, as an actress, announcer and program director in national competitions of the National Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba, UNEAC.

Among her most important awards are:

In 1983 Caricato Mention National Competition performance, the highest honor of the Association of Performing Artists of UNEAC in story category.
In 1990 National Mention for her performance, story category.
In 1997 National Award for her performance, drama category.
In 1997 Caracol Award, the highest honor of the Association of Radio, Movies and Television.
In 1999 National Mention in Caricato Competition, drama category.
In 1999 Best performance in the National Radio Festival.
In 2002 National Caricato Award.
In 2004 National Caricato Award.
In 2004 Violeta Casal Announcing Award
In 2007 Hallmark 85th Anniversary of the Cuban Radio.
