Haitian Radio Recalls Cuba’s Bay of Pigs Victory

The U.S. government, which had organized Operation Pluto, approved by ex-President John F. Kennedy, was certainly accused, and publicly admitted its responsibility just five days after the events occurred.

The radio show paid tribute to the victims of the bombings at the Cuban airports, to those people who died defending our country’s sovereignty on the sands of Playa Giron and the hundreds of people affected.

This broadcast was a resounding rejection of the economic and financial blockade imposed by the United States which, in addition to affecting the stoic Cuban people, hinders cooperation with different countries in the world, especially Haiti, where Cuban doctors play an unquestionable role in providing assistance.

The mercenary invasion at Playa Giron was the baptism by fire of the newly-formed Cuban artillery, which together with the other forces made up by the people, helped to destroy the aggressors, in just 72 hours.
