The Award comprised of a printed canvas with the last portrait that Ecuadorean painter Oswaldo Guayasamin painted of leader of the Revolution Fidel Castro, which was given by Pedro Martinez Pirez, an honorary member of Guayasamin Fundation as well as a certificate signed by Pablo Guayasamin, president of Guayasamin Fundation, and Alfredo Vera, director of International Relations of that Ecuadorean institution created by the “Painter of Latin America”.
The ceremony was held at the Tulipan Hotel in Havana, during the closing of the First International Biennial of the Cuban Radio, in which many radio workers from Cuba anad Latin America were present, as well as the President of the Cuban Institute of Radio and Television, Danilo Soto.
