The ideals of Bolivar in America

These days with those identified ephemeris, sometimes the significance of those figures that surpass even national, to rise to the history of the struggles of peoples for their liberation is remembered personal experiences.

Pointed the Mexican philosopher Leopoldo Zea, that the Chavez Bolivarian thought, like that of “Bolívar continues like riding along the history and peoples of the Americas.” The validity of his thinking is still alive as José Martí would say, the aim of Bolivar, and well it serves the wallcreeper now that “even shoes campaign boots, because he still has much to do in this America, the America, Our America “.

Simon Bolivar (1783-1830) dedicated his life to Latin American independence. He warned the needs and demands of the nations at that time colonial, where the Pan-American imperialist threat loomed and thus defined the objectives of emancipation for the Southern Cone, as well as thinking about the fate of Cuba and Puerto Rico.

Latin America in its history has many worthy men who devoted their efforts to the fight, both against Spanish colonialism and imperialism. The idea of creating a Latin American confederation was one of the prerequisites for Bolivar; however, that chimera centuries later materialized with the creation of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA), born revolutionary thrust of Hugo Chavez and Fidel Castro, to fight together against common threats of countries region.

Currently, the realization of these projects shows the performance of some of the aspirations of Simon Bolivar Latin Americanism, because the ALBA has 11 member countries, which together 2 000 500 million square kilometers and about 75 million people.

On that occasion, the meeting ended with a resolution that highlighted the emergence of the block as “a body integration (…), based on principles of solidarity, social justice, cooperation and economic complementarily, the result of political will and deep commitment to integration of Fidel Castro and Hugo Chavez. “

The tenth anniversary of the founding of ALBA showed its vitality as a competent and relevant political entity, while it has fulfilled its mission, strengthen the Latin American and Caribbean integration in America.
Thought-and dreams of Bolivar and Chavez are mixed in the regional bloc that makes the difference and desires of political, social and economic emancipation of our people.
