Let us dream against barbarism

If we get used to see and not see, read and forget, to know and, at the same time, ignore, puts us on the edge of too deep abyss from which there is no escape. Just one look at the events suffered by humanity since those dark years of World War II, for realizing the great danger in which we live.

It is clear that the immense power of the Empire acts as if the world was obliged to respect his orders no matter how evil that you are. Not recognize the rights of others, only their obligations to them. Invoke God to validate and justify injustice that promotes wars. But, incredibly, -and following the disastrous ideas of their precursores- President Obama has said the following: … our security emanates from the justness of our cause, the force of our example, the qualities of humility and moderation. We are the keepers of this legacy.

Selected example of such words, humility, moderation. Are we to believe that such words held the US atomic bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, in which many thousands of innocent Japanese died? Was it an act of humility and restraint the unprecedented slaughter of Iraqis to withdraw from Kuwait, become known as the “highway of death” ?, How guardians of the world was possible invasion and slaughter against the fraternal Vietnamese people; the shooting down of an Iranian civilian airliner that killed almost 300 humans; the bombing of the MSF hospital in Kunduz, Afghanistan, become a real carnage; the deaths of thousands of civilians with drones in Pakistan, Afghanistan, Libya, and Iraq?

Despite these examples and many more, Mr. Bush (one, no matter, are wolves from the same litter) he has said. “Confided the world power, and the world is right to rely on be fair and restricted us. They trust us to be on the side of decency. They trust us to do the right thing “Weird words, because today the world sees exactly the opposite. For all this, more than once, I have emphasized the imperative need to fight relentlessly, so that one day future generations demolish the fabulous building of evil; and always dream that a better world is possible.

“In 1948 and 1976, the United Nations proclaimed long lists of human rights. But the vast majority of humanity has only the right to see, hear and silence What if we begin to exercise the never proclaimed right to dream? What if rave for a while? Let’s stare beyond infamy to divine another possible world (…). “UN message to Eduardo Galeano.
