About nine heads of State or Government, including Michelle Bachelet (Chile), Luis Guillermo Solis (Costa Rica), Horacio Cartes (Paraguay), and the prime ministers of Barbados, Jamaica, Curacao and the Bahamas, among other special guests, have arrived here so far.
Presidents Danilo Medina (Dominican Republic) and Juan Orlando Hernandez (Honduras) will arrive in Panama in the coming hours.
The main opening ceremony of the third set of locks of the expansion of the inter-oceanic waterway will be held in Cocoli, in the Panamanian Pacific region.
