UNICEF notes Cuban efforts to prioritize early childhood

The report also highlights the impact on the quality of life of Cuban children and families of the Educate Your Child program, highlighting that it “is both a social programme − aimed at raising awareness and commitment of the entire society on the importance of the first years of life and the need for integrated child care in this period − and an educational programme that, through parent education, aims to foster child development from before their birth through age six.”

Another element of the study is Cuba’s regional leadership in the development of this segment of the population, an indisputable achievement of the Cuban state, which has remained committed to this human right, assuming it as a priority for over 50 years.

The report also highlights that health services have been instrumental in guaranteeing the right of Cuban children to survival and development.
