The Vietnamese head of State will thus fulfill an invitation from his Cuban counterpart and first secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba, Miguel Diaz-Canel.

Cuban deputy rejects resolution passed in European Parliament. The Chairwoman of the International Relations Commission of the National Assembly of the People’s Power (ANPP) Yolanda Ferrer on Thursday described the resolution passed by the European Parliament (EP) as spurious.

On Twitter, Ms. Ferrer assured that European Parliament lacks authority to deal with Cuba´s internal affairs. ‘Cuba does not grant European Parliament any moral authority to pronounce, judge and lie on internal affairs that only concern our country,’ she tweeted. European Parliament called the European Union (EU) for sanctions on those allegedly responsible for ‘human rights violations’ following Jul. 11 riots. 

Cuba will hold forum of leaders in Information technologies The use of information technologies in the progress of the Cuban economy, government, and digital society nowadays will be the focus of the fifth edition of the Forum of Entrepreneurs and Leaders of the sector (Felti 2021). 

Held from the 15th to the 17th of the current month, the event took place virtually through the Fevexpo platform, and  also addressed topics such as the use of digital tools in health, education and transport, development of infrastructure solutions, security in the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), digital skills and the 4.0 industry.

Cuban FM strongly rejects US obstacles to family remittances Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez on Wednesday strongly rejected the US drawbacks to send family remittances to his country and championed the legitimate right of families to assist their loved ones in times of need. 

Obstacles against this mechanism repeat fiction used by the Donald Trump administration (2017-2020) that Cuba seizes part of the remittance amount, Bruno Rodríguez live-tweeted. This is how the United States acts to satisfy the interests of a minority sector that makes money from the Cuban people´s suffering, he added.

Cuba calls tourism fair in December Cuban authorities ratified the call for the 3rd 2021 Gaviota Destinations Tourism Fair, scheduled for late December. 

The event is aimed at tour operators, travel agents, hotel groups, retailers and professionals in the sector. Organized by Gaviota Group S.A., the meeting is scheduled for December 6 to 12 on Cayo Santa Maria, in Villa Clara province, in Cuba’s north-central region.

On this occasion, the meeting will focus on travel events, congress and conventions, and will show the experience gathered by the Gaviota Group in this segment of the leisure industry. 

Cuba´s Central Bank issues cryptocurrency-related resolution Resolution 215 of 2021 issued by Cuba´s Central Bank (BCC), which regulates the use of certain virtual assets or cryptocurrencies in commercial transactions, is in force as of Wednesday in Cuba. The resolution also provides for the licensing of virtual asset service providers for financial-related operations in/from Cuba.

To this end, the resolution sets down as a virtual asset the digital value representation that can be traded or transferred digitally and used for payments or investments.

President Diaz-Canel praised Lopez Obrador’s solidarity with Cuba Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel said that his Mexican counterpart, Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, gave ‘a master class in history and a great proof of courage’ in defending the island. 

‘The speech of López Obrador in ceremony for the 211th anniversary of the Grito de Dolores, to all Cubans who were there, reached the bottom of our hearts,’ he added through his Twitter account. Diaz-Canel, on an official visit to Mexico, highlighted excerpts from the words of the Mexican head of state, who once again rejected the imposition of unilateral measures against Cuba and called for an end to the US economic, commercial and financial blockade.
