The Cuban vice president described as ‘remarkable’ the development Angola has experienced over four decades of independence.
Díaz-Canel will stay in Angola until Thursday, September 28th. Other activities on his agenda include tributes to Cuban internationalist commander Raúl Díaz Argüelles, who was killed in a mine explosion in 1975 and the martyrs of the Battle of Quifangondo, which occurred on November 10th, 1975 — the day before the People’s Movement for the Liberation of Angola (MPLA) declared Angola’s independence from Portugal.
