Cuba and China signed new cooperation

Cuba’s Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment (MINCEX) Rodrigo Malmierca and China’s ambassador in Havana Chen Xi signed the documents that formalize the exchange of letters for two collaboration projects and for delivery to Cuba medical supplies against Covid-19.

One of the initiatives will allow the acquisition of steel for repair, maintenance and construction starting at an amount of over 13 million dollars, the CubaDebate website refers.

The second project implies the delivery to the Cuban government of 2.2 million dollars for the technological modernization of the General Customs of the Republic of Cuba.

At the ceremony, the head of the MINCEX recalled the establishment of diplomatic ties exactly 60 years ago between Havana and Beijing, a fact that began historic relations of ‘friendship and sisterhood between the communist parties, the governments and the peoples of both nations.’
