Cuban collaborator kidnapped in Haiti released

The Cuban Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP) reported that on Wednesday, February 1, the collaborator Alejandro Aguilera Milanés, a member of the Cuban Medical Brigade in Haiti, who had been kidnapped in the city of Port-au-Prince on January 23 by one of the armed gangs operating in that country, was released.

According to Granma newspaper, in a note published on MINSAP’s website, gratitude is expressed “to the Haitian authorities and to all the people of goodwill who immediately mobilized to safe the collaborator in the shortest possible time and ensure his safety”.

It was reported that the collaborators of the Cuban Medical Brigade continue to provide their services to the Haitian population while complying with the security measures established for the performance of their duties.
