President Varela and minister Malmierca addressed possibilities to strengthen bilateral economic relations and considered areas for exchange such as renewable energy, logistics, the food industry, tourism among others, according to a report by PL news agency.
During his visit to Panama, minister Malmierca met with Panamanian foreign trade minister, with the president of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture and other government officials.
The meeting with the Panamanian president was attended by Panamanian minister of Trade and Industries, Augusto Arosemena and by ambassador to Cuba Francisco Escobar. On the Cuban side was the director at the Foreign Trade Minister Debora Rivas and the island´s representative in Panama Antonio Pardo.
