Mariana de Gonitch Academy to Perform ”Fidel es Cuba”

“It’s a concert in honor of the Revolution and Commander in Chief on his 90th birthday,” Hugo Osle said.

The creation of ‘Fidel es Cuba’ was suggested by Kenia Serrano, director of the Cuban Institute for Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP), and Bruno Rodriguez, Minister of Foreign Affairs, during the celebration of the 45th anniversary of ICAP, recalled Hugo Osle.

Among other activities, on July 12th the Academy will chair the Sara Gonzalez contest. Sara Gonzalez was a well-known Cuban singer and many of her songs were dedicated to the Revolutionary process.

The Academy was named after the Russian soprano Mariana de Gonitch and was created eight years ago with the purpose of training young opera singers.
