Simonet extended the invitation to such performance, which will take place on Sunday, Feb. 21, at the “Teresa Carreño” Theaterâs Rios Reyna hall in this capital at 17:00 local time.
The Cuban musician founded his own band in 1993, consisting of a unique instrumentation of violin, cello, flute, two trumpets and two trombones, as well as synthesizer, piano, congas, bass, and drums.
Simonet said this is the album number 14, which was already official launched in Cuba, and its second launch will be this weekend in Venezuela, where dance academies are closely linked with the Cuban timba, so this is a privilege for the orchestra to release the album in Caracas.
The band will share stage with the Dimension Latina Orchestra and, on the Cuban side, singer Tania Pantoja. Simonet noted that about 1,000 records and posters are expected to be given among the audience attending the “Teresa Carreño” Theater.
The disc features an audio CD and an audiovisual of the concert that took place at La Tropical’s Salon Rosado Benny More, the most famous and “hard-to-please” dance floor in Havana.
