Accredited to the Caribbean nation in the Cuban press, parliamentary, representative of the region Sant Mary, one of the poorest in the country, praised Cuba’s support in the training of health professionals.
“I had no idea that so many Jamaicans students had studied in Cuba. The people and government of Cuba have long aided the public health system in Jamaica and have better results in this area, in different specialties, through the system of grants to study medical science, “he said.
Elsewhere in his remarks Winston explained that the parliament of Jamaica in seven consecutive times, most recently last October 20, has unanimously approved a motion demanding the lifting of the blockade, as a sign of support for the Revolution.
He also welcomed the opportunity to study medicine in Cuba in the 70s of last century, a fact which prepared him for his personal and professional life.
