Revolutionary Joy of Workers at Ernesto Guevara Square in Santa Clara

The parade was headed by Abelardo Alvarez, member of the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the Cuban Communist Party, and Julio Lima, member of the Central Committee and first secretary of that political organization in Villa Clara.

Also present were Margarita Gonzalez, Minister of Labor and Social Security, and other government leaders and organizations in the province.

The union of the working-class unity and solidarity with the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela characterized the fighting spirit of Villa Clara residents, who pay homage to Che in every proletarian activity with a mass parade.

The area was filled with the red, white and blue colors of Cuba’s national flag as it happened in municipalities and towns of the territory, with the presence of about 400,000 people, pointed out Consuelo Baeza, general secretary of the Cuban Workers Confederation in Villa Clara.

Five hundred senior high school students with national flags occupied the area of the platform next to the sculpture of Che, while a dozen fine art creators reflected with images the struggle against the U.S. blockade and their support for Cuban solidarity.

Once again the people approached this sacred place of the country, where the mortal remains of the Heroic Guerrilla and several of his comrades of the exploit in Bolivia rest, in order to reaffirm their commitment to the Revolution.
