Heads of State and Government of the ACS to Meet on Saturday in Havana

During meetings of top officials and foreign ministers held on Thursday and Friday, respectively, the projects of the Havana Declaration of Havana and its Plan of Action, essential documents for the revitalization of the ACS, to be approved Saturday, were negotiated.

The Foreign Ministers of the ACS also worked on the preparation of a document of solidarity with the fraternal Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, which will be submitted to the leaders for approval.

At the Press Center fit out at the Habana Libre Hotel, Bruno Rodriguez, Cuban Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Alfonso Munera, Secretary General of the Association of Caribbean States, will speak about the results of the 7th Summit of the organization.

Motivations for participants in the momentous meeting are to eliminate barriers that undermine cooperation among peoples, to know cultures in the Caribbean better, make greater efforts to legitimize the region as a Zone of Peace, and take advantage of capacities for development.

The Summit is the most important meeting of the ACS, because it favors the confluence of the Heads of State and Government or their high level representatives, who meet to commit themselves again to the goals, objectives and actions that will benefit the inhabitants of the Caribbean.
