The Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Cuban Communist Party approved for the main activity to be held in the central province due to the outstanding work of its leaders and people in general in advancing the development of the territory.
The article included a photograph of the territory and the headlines entitled “El Yayabo is in the Streets” highlighting the joy of the residents to the news at the rhythm of a conga.
Accompanied by Cuban and the July 26th flags, the people from Sancti Spiritus packed the Serafin Sanches Valdivia Park in the city, reported the daily.
Students from the Eusevio Olivera Vocational Institute and the School of Medicine in Sancti Spiritus headed the rally with the participation of people from all walks of life.
Slogans by Fidel and President Raul Castro were heard during the rally recalling several moments in history in the territory headed by General Major Serafin Sanchez Valdivia during the fight against Spanish colonialism.
The province of Sancti Spiritus has had a sustained increase in its main socio-economic sector including a hike in its production s, advances in food cultivation and sugar cane program according to a communique issued by the Political Bureau.
