Cuba’s Comptroller General Attends Regional Assembly in El Salvador

She highlighted that audit programs, which can be used for the prevention of corruption, are essential for more efficient management of administrations. The reason for the existence of organizations such as OCCEFS is to ensure that administrations become more efficient and transparent, she said. The Cuban vice president stressed that the meeting in El Salvador is aimed at developing the Strategic Development Plan of OCCEFS.

President Salvador Sanchez Ceren will today open the meeting which will conclude tomorrow. The Cuban vice president arrived at the “Monsignor Oscar Arnulfo Romero” International Airport late yesterday afternoon. She was welcomed by Deputy Foreign Minister, Carlos Castaneda, the island’s ambassador, Iliana Fonseca, and officials of the Court of Accounts of El Salvador.

OCCEFS is an autonomous and apolitical regional body, formed by the Supreme Audit Institutions of Central America and the Caribbean (Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Dominican Republic, Cuba and Belize).
