The petition in favor of the cessation of the embargo was formulated by Maite Mola, PEL vice president, in a video posted on Twitter.
European parties demand end of the American blockade against Cuba
There are 35 European parties that have already declared for years our total and absolute rejection of the blockade against Cuba and all peoples, the Spanish politician said.
In the current situation, “a country subjected to a blockade under these conditions is, in addition to indecent, unsupportive and it´s also a crime against humanity”, she added.
PEL is a member of the Confederal Group of the European United Left / Nordic Green Left in the Eurochamber that was founded in May 2004 and brings together parties of the European anti-capitalist left, mainly communists, democratic socialists and other left currents.
