Díaz-Canel denies alleged offer of aid from the U.S. government

The day before, Cuban Foreign Minister, Bruno Rodríguez, assured on the same social network that Washington had not provided vaccines or other resources to counteract the pandemic in his country.

Rodriguez denied “with all responsibility” that the White House offered help to Cuba during the international emergency, and pointed out that in reality it dedicated all its efforts to “hindering the purchase of supplies for the vaccination program and the national production of medicines”.

The Head of Cuban diplomacy recalled that United States not only maintains the 243 “inhumane measures” of former president Donald Trump (2017-2021), but it did not not even include the Caribbean nation among the States to which they lifted the unilateral measures that limited their hability to face Covid-19.
