Due to what has happened in recent months, tourism authorities predict an increase in the number of foreign visitors to Cuba’s main coastal resort, Varadero, by the end of the year.According to the delegate of the Ministry of Tourism in Matanzas, Ivis Fernandez, this year Varadero beach will gradually increase the number of tourist arrivals compared to the same period in 2020 and 2021, which were very complex years due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
During the so-called peak season for this year, Varadero is expected to report an increase in tourist arrivals, and the holding of several international events, she said, will allow Varadero to receive a considerable number of tourists.
Varadero is currently receiving 36 percent of the international holidaymakers arriving in Cuba and offers over 21,880 rooms, distributed in 56 hotels run by prestigious operators such as Melia, Iberostar, Roc, Blue Diamond, BeLive, Barcelo, Valentin, and Muthu.
