Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez meets with US Secretary of Transportation

During the meeting various issues of interest concerning the current state of bilateral relations and the impact that could have the implementation of the agreement to regulate direct travel between the two countries were discussed.

The Cuban side stressed that the signing of the Memorandum is a step which favors the process towards improvement of links, for which standardization lifting the blockade will be essential, among other outstanding issues to be resolved.

In the morning, the Minister of Transport Adel Yzquierdo Rodriguez met with the Secretary Foxx and part of his delegation, occasion in which they exchanged views on the prospects of the links in the field of air transport and the possibilities of cooperation between Havana and Washington on civil aviation and other areas of interest.

For Cuba participated in the meetings the Director General of the US Foreign Ministry, Josefina Vidal Ferreiro; President of the Institute of Civil Aeronautics of Cuba, Alfredo Cordero Puig, and officials Foreign Ministry officials and MITRANS.
