Cuba supports over 37,000 special education students

The event, organized by the Cuban Ministry of Education and Latin American Reference Center for Special Education, was organized to share ideas and experiences on issues related to providing educational services for preschool children with special learning needs, human resource training, professional performance and development, family support, institutional organization, and the use of educational technologies.

The Congress will also include key-note and thematic lectures, symposiums, round table and panel discussions, international courses, and special visits to facilities such as the Dora Alonso, Vo Thi Thang, Eter­no Baraguá schools as well as the Ful­gencio Oroz pedagogical institute, among others.

Special education has been prioritized by the Cuban government since the triumph of the Revolution on January 1, 1959, and is renowned for the quality and systemic support it provides children with special needs.
