Cuba to hold international virtual conference against US blockade

The meeting will begin at 9:00 a.m. and can be followed on the Anymeeting digital platform with live and open transmission through Facebook and YouTube, says the note sent by ICAP.

Officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, ICAP and the Ministry of Public Health, who will make up the panel to discuss the intensification of the blockade and its damage to Cuban Public Health in its confrontation with COVID-19, will attend the forum.

The goals of the conference are denouncing the growing hostility and aggressiveness of the US government, manifested in the intensification of the blockade, in addition to disseminating the effects of the genocidal policy and its impact on the development of Cuba.

Likewise, the campaign to discredit Cuban medical collaboration will be condemned as one of the ways to economically suffocate and isolate the Caribbean island, and there will also be a space to make visible the worldwide accompaniment of Cuba in the fight against the US siege.

Among the lines of messages to share will be that the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the American government against Cuba for almost six decades is the most unfair, severe and prolonged system of unilateral sanctions that has been applied against any country.

It will also be ratified that this genocidal policy constitutes a massive, flagrant and systematic violation of the human rights of the entire Cuban population.
