Back in Cuba Medical Team that Helped Haiti

Upon their arrival in Havana, the doctors paid tribute with a minute of silence to the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, who passed away on November 25.

It was Fidel Castro who created the Henry Reeve Medical Brigade with the aim to assisting nations struck with natural disasters or plagues anywhere in the world.

In welcoming them, Cuba’s Deputy Minister of Health, Marcia Cobas, reaffirmed that these doctors are ready to cooperate and assist any country under any circumstances.

This is the 24th team of the Henry Reeve Brigade that accomplished international medical emergency missions since Fidel Castro set it up after hurricane Katrina hit hard southern regions of the U.S.A.
